Why Paw Envy?
Paw Envy Pet Grooming Salon was established because we were tired of the industry-wide mistreatment of pet groomers, and the poor allocation of sales funds to maintain the premises and equipment. The pet grooming industry relies on exploiting worker labor. This includes packing the schedule with too many appointments, no breaks, and promoting competition for commission pay. Pet bathers are hired at minimum wage with the promise of training to become full groomers; creating high turnover that results in low skill. Groomers are paid in commission for the dogs they do, but expected to do a lot of unpaid labor such as answering phones, making appointments and deep-cleaning salon spaces.
All of this is at the cost of the dog’s experience. We want to create an environment where dogs are safe and comfortable, minimizing stress for the pets and the people who work with them. Stressed and overworked groomers means anxious pets and a higher possibility for accidents.
At Paw Envy, we don’t hire bathers. All bathing and prep work is done by our skilled groomers, who are paid a fair hourly wage and share in the work to keep the salon clean and safe.
We prioritize transparency - it’s why we have so many resources available here on our site. Pet owners know very little about what happens during a groom, never mind in the grooming industry as a whole. Our industry is unregulated, so we want to build a bond with you and your pet. As it stands, anyone can buy a few tools and call themselves a pet groomer; so it’s essential to know who you’re trusting with these special members of your family.

Candace Taylor
Candace has a passion for all things dog grooming and wellness. She loves building a relationship with the dogs she works with, and finding creative solutions for the grooming challenges they face. Her fun and bubbly attitude puts dogs at ease and they just love being around her!
She started grooming years ago because her new rescue dog was too fearful and reactive to be groomed, and she brings that energy to all of her clients. She also has incredible handscissoring skills and makes them look super cute! Candace specializes in small dogs.
Rita Felicioni

Her love of big hairy dogs is second only to her passion for cats - she is a total cat lady and is excited to offer more cat services at Paw Envy.
